Tamar Khomasuridze is UNFPA Sexual and Reproductive Health Adviser for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, based in the UNFPA Eastern Europe and Central Asia Regional Office, Istanbul, Turkey. She is a medical doctor with more than 25 years of experience in the field of sexual and reproductive health, as a clinician, researcher, program adviser and manager. She holds a Ph.D. in reproductive health. At present, she is responsible for technical and managerial support to the UNFPA sexual and reproductive health research program portfolio in Eastern Europe and Central Asia and leads the Women’s Sexual and Reproductive health cluster of the UNFPA Eastern Europe and Central Asia Regional Office.
Gunta Lazdane is an obstetrician and gynecologist and has been Professor and Head of the University Department in Riga Stradins University, Latvia. Since 2003, she has worked at the WHO Regional Office for Europe as the program manager for Sexual and Reproductive Health in the Division of Noncommunicable Diseases and Promoting Health through the Life-Course. She assists 53 WHO Member States in the European Region in improving sexual, reproductive, maternal and newborn health through promoting good health at key stages of life, taking into account social determinants of health and gender equity and human rights.
